The French celebrate the Fêtes des Vendanges; the Italians their Festa dell’uva, while in the lush Durbanville valley the winemakers celebrate the delicious fruits of their hard labour at the annual Feast of the Grape.
As harvest season comes to an end, a glorious celebration occurs in honour of the bounty of the vineyards with a feast-filled weekend, jam-packed with activities and an abundance of seasonal wines at Durbanville Race Course on the weekend of 2nd and 3rd of March 2013.
Connoisseurs, casual quaffers and even the young-uns will be treated to a smorgasbord of the valleys offerings including: superb wine, live entertainment and heaps of kiddies’ activities. Give grape stomping a bash or even milking a dairy cow, the tractor exhibition will show off the latest and greatest equipment for the field. There will be a variety of stalls exhibiting their delicious local produce alternatively grab a bite from one of the many restaurants showcasing their tallent at the festival.
Tickets to the festival cost R100 for adults and R50 for children, which can be booked directly through Webtickets. Your ticket allows you access to the venue as well as a complimentary tasting glass and tasting coupons. Additional coupons can be purchased throughout the day.
